Publications

The BC Partners are dedicated to producing trustworthy and easy-to-understand publications that will help you or a family member manage a mental illness or addiction effectively. Single copies of all of our print resources are available free of charge to people with the related condition, their family members, and service providers in BC. If you would like to reproduce any of our materials, please consult our Copyright and Terms of Use policy; the limits of our information are described in our Disclaimer. To search by topic, see our Understand More section.

Ordering Hard Copies

Individuals with personal experience of mental health or substance use problems and their family members (as well as health care professionals in the public or non-profit sector) in BC can request and be mailed single copies of these resources free of charge. Organizations or individuals wanting multiple copies of a resource are invited to print out and fax back our order form (PDF). All proceeds are re-invested into the production of more high-quality resources. Please call us for more details.

Fact Sheets

The Primer is a series of basic fact sheets on various mental health and addictions topics. The articles in The Primer are researched using the best available evidence and are written in an easy-to-read, magazine style with statistics, interviews and sidebars, and are intended for people with little or no contact with these issues.

Visions Journal

Published quarterly, Visions is a nationally-award-winning journal which features the voices of people living with a mental disorder or substance use problem, their family and friends, and service providers in BC. Each themed issue includes a guest editorial, experiences and perspectives from people touched by the theme topic, alternatives and approaches to managing the area, regional programs, and helpful resources.

Toolkits

Among our most popular resources, these workbooks help readers better understand and manage their conditions, or support someone else to do so.

Brochures

Apart from our fact sheets, we have two additional brochures that are not only informative but handy additions for displays or events.

The State of the Knowledge documents on methamphetamine, cannabis, needle exchange programs and supervised injection sites that were posted on this site in 2004 have now been retired. For fact sheets on meth and cannabis, please see our fact sheets page.
